I am SO happy to report that the Autism Resource Foundation now has their 501(c)(3) from the IRS!

This has been a long and stressful time for us here at ARF. We submitted our request with the IRS in January. We waited...

Waited...

Cried a little...

GOT IT! What a relief for us here at ARF. This open all the doors we need to provide resources and services to the families dealing with Autism.
1) Therapy Provider site
--- We will be adding more states to our site
2) Computers for Autism
--- We will be able to expand and offer this to more and more families
3) the ARF Care Centers
--- Our biggest and most ambitious adventure is now closer to a reality.
4) Keep The Faith
--- More able to assist churches and other religious affiliations with members who have Autism or families who have autism.

92.3 KTAR (Phoenix, AZ) held their 2nd annual Action for Autism to help support the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC). We here at the Autism Resource Foundation want to thank KTAR, the staff, radio personality and EVERYONE who donated to this worthy cause.

In just one day, they raise over $350,000.

SARRC provides services and support to children and families affected by autism, while searching for answers to solve the mysteries surrounding the complex neurobiological disorder.

Autism covers a spectrum of disorders that interfere with normal development in language, social interaction and behavior. The disorders usually are first diagnosed in early childhood. Most children with autism look perfectly normal, but they often will avoid eye contact and lack interest in, or regard for, faces. Their thinking and learning abilities vary from gifted to severely challenged. SARRC was formed in 1997 and began educating parents and launched research studies.

Approximately 1 in 150 children are affected by autism.
